Job Summary

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for performing a variety of warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, and inventory management. This position involves both indoor and outdoor work, handling large materials such as pipes, and interacting directly with customers at the service counter. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This role provides an excellent opportunity for growth and skill development within a dynamic Waterworks/Meter Depot location.

Job Responsibilities




  • Pull and prepare customer orders for shipment and delivery.



  • Receive, verify, stage, and stock incoming materials accurately.



  • Operate a sit-down forklift to handle large and heavy materials safely.



  • Assist customers at the service counter with order inquiries and pickups.



  • Maintain an organized, clean, and secure warehouse environment.



  • Ensure adherence to all safety standards and operating procedures.



  • Learn and support multiple warehouse functions, including shipping, receiving, and returns.



  • Collaborate effectively with team members to meet operational goals.



  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of warehouse operations.




Job Requirements




  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.



  • Strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to learn new tasks.



  • Minimum of 6 months to 2 years of warehouse experience preferred.



  • At least 6 months of sit-down forklift experience required; must be safety-minded and comfortable working outdoors.



  • Ability to read and interpret work orders accurately.



  • Basic product knowledge or the ability to learn quickly.



  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.



  • Good communication and customer service skills.




Education




  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.




Work Experience




  • Previous experience in warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, delivery, or inventory management, preferred.



  • Forklift certification or demonstrable forklift operating experience required.



  • Experience working with larger materials, such as pipes or industrial components, preferred.




Additional Job Details




  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, full-time hours.



  • This role may include responsibilities aligned with positions such as Floater Pipe Yard Inside Associate, Pipe Yard Outside Associate, Receiving Associate, Receiving Clerk, or Returns Associate.



  • Must comply with all company safety and operational procedures at all times.
