Job Summary
The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing building systems, HVAC equipment, and related utilities to ensure a safe, efficient, and comfortable work environment. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and coordinating repairs while adhering to safety and compliance standards. The Facilities Technician also supports equipment installations, facility modifications, and vendor coordination to ensure optimal operational performance. Job Responsibilities
Perform maintenance, mechanical, and electrical tasks related to facility and utility systems, including vacuum, compressed air, emergency generation, power, city and well water, and HVAC equipment.
Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs based on manufacturer recommendations and reliability history.
Operate and maintain building HVAC systems to ensure comfort and energy efficiency.
Coordinate and oversee work performed by outside contractors and vendors.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), preferably Infor EAM.
Monitor inventory and coordinate with suppliers to maintain adequate stock of spare parts.
Prepare and communicate maintenance reports and updates to internal teams and management.
Participate as a member of the Emergency Response Team.
Ensure all work complies with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Support equipment moves, installations, and facility layout modifications as needed.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support facility operations.
Job Requirements
High school diploma or GED required; 2-year associate degree in a technical discipline preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Facilities Technician or Maintenance Technician (flexible for second shift roles).
Experience with CMMS systems required; Infor EAM experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong mechanical, electrical, and HVAC knowledge.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair facility and utility systems safely and efficiently.
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Must be available for full-time, on-site work.
Preferred Qualifications
Current Boilers or Refrigeration License.
2-4 years of experience in a regulated industry such as medical device, pharmaceutical, or electronics manufacturing.
Technical college degree or equivalent trade certification.
