 Accounting Internship Summary: 
CSX is a Fortune 500 company seeking future business leaders to help foster growth, efficiency and innovation. Interns within the Accounting Department will be placed onto either the Billing or the Accounting & Reporting teams for a 10-week immersion into CSX methods and culture. Individuals will complete challenging real-world assignments, working hand in hand with leaders across the company to improve decision-making and financial performance. The accounting internship provides an opportunity for candidates to experience what a role in accounting & reporting or billing, looks like, while allowing CSX to actively recruit tomorrow's best talent. 
Internship Details: 
 CSX provides optional intern housing for the duration of the 10-week program, as long as the selected intern meets eligibility criteria. 
Primary Activities and Responsibilities: 
* Participate in and learn core areas of the accounting organization 
* Contribute to special projects that support field employees, technology initiatives, customer relationships, financial and liquidity objectives, as well as reporting and compliance 
* Engage in process improvement projects designed to improve best practices 
* Conduct accounting research and summarize results 
* Communicate analyses through presentations to senior management in the department 
* Complete cross functional projects and miscellaneous activities as assigned by manager 
Minimum Qualifications: 
* Must be at least 18 years of age 
* Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, Information Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science or a related major field of study from an accredited institution 
* Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0 (based on a 4-point scale) 
Preferred Qualifications: 
* Anticipated graduation within a year after the end of the internship 
* Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.5 (based on a 4-point scale) 
Knowledge and Skills: 
* Academic distinction with accounting or finance interest/talent 
* Proven leadership ability and initiative 
* Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills 
* Ability to develop and deliver presentations to a senior level audience 
* Proficient in Microsoft Office 
Job Requirements: 
* Work inside an office environment 
* Communicate effectively with senior leadership/executive audiences 
* Work within established deadlines 
* Successfully complete a background check and drug test
