GENERAL FUNCTION
The PR and Communications Specialist is responsible for providing key support to the Senior Global PR & Marketing Manager on all related initiatives for the Oliver Peoples brand.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
VIP Relations:
- Secure consistent celebrity placements through collaboration with top-tier stylists
- Lead celebrity and influencer gifting initiatives
- Oversee completion of custom and prescription frames for VIP clients
- Merchandise showroom and manage appointments with high-profile talent
- Create invoices for VIP purchases, especially Rx orders
- Coordinate with OP boutiques to schedule VIP visits where applicable
- Partner with local lab to produce custom pairs for celebrities and ensure timely delivery
- Manage PR-related shipments and courier deliveries for successful receipt
- Provide daily in-office support for product pulls
- Offer after-hours assistance during peak PR events (Awards Season, brand activations, etc.)
PR Inventory:
- Handle sample send-outs and returns for a 2,000-piece inventory
- Maintain a clean, organized PR closet
- Unpack new samples promptly
- Order inventory for replenishment and new collections
Editorial Work, Recaps, and Press Releases:
- Create celebrity blasts for editor distribution
- Compile and review monthly print and digital placement reports
- Produce monthly press recaps for domestic and international teams
- Draft weekly placement reports for global teams
- Write seasonal press releases and product descriptions for new collections and campaigns
- Maintain organized records of celebrity placement imagery
- Update product packshots and campaign visuals in archives
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years Marketing or Event experience
- Advanced knowledge of marketing principles and practices
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment and flexibility to accommodate demanding project schedules with maintaining strong focus on execution and results
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written), including presentation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Lift occasionally up to 10-30 lbs
- Onsite duties may require bending, walking, or standing for an extended period of time
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of optical/eyewear luxury products
- Ability to foster and promote a cohesive team environment
- Performs work in a fashion that others can pick up where left off
- Organizational awareness - understands the effect and implications of decisions on other components of the organization
- Exemplifies the brand's vision, mission and values
- Proficient in SAP, Excel, Microsoft Office
- Willing to travel domestically - limited evenings and weekends as needed
