Creighton University in Omaha, NE is seeking to hire an Assistant Director for the office of Student and Family Support. The Office of Student and Family Support (OSFS) is a critical student-centered resource within Creighton's Division of Student Success and physically housed within The Success Center. Reporting to the Director of OSFS, the Assistant Director primarily serves, parents/families; assisting in the implementation of student success and family engagement retention strategies, facilitates revenue through sponsorship management, and drives Bluejay Family communication portfolio. The successful candidate must navigate conversations with students, parents/families, faculty and staff while operating under office protocol, University policy, and FERPA. Additionally, the Assistant Director supports student retention through data management, 1:1 student appointments, documentation, and reporting of engagement metrics. This is a full-time and in person/on-campus position. Occasional evening and weekend commitments are required. Key Responsibilities
- Serve as lead on OSFS communications to parents/families including Bluejay Family Newsletters and Bluejay Family Live Panels with strong collaboration with University Communications and IT.
- Maintain contact with Bluejay Family sponsors and vendors to grow revenue opportunities.
- Serve as support to student retention events, case management, and programming.
- Manage daily upkeep of parents and family support and data tracking including Success Desk email and voicemail inboxes and elevated parents and family phone calls.
- Organize parent and family support and engagement events and programming such as Family Weekend, Move-in, Bluejay Family Cura Calling, Admitted Students Day, Receptions, and more.
- Develop focused engagement strategy for families for intersecting identities and demographics including but not limited to; families of first-generation, Pell-eligible, commuters, and students of color.
Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Two years of experience required, to include coordinating programs, communications, and events. Higher education community or similar external constituents preferred.
- Experience in Slate, Banner, Argos, Canvas, Nest, DegreeWorks, Tableau, CampusESP, Handshake, Salesforce, and Content Management Software for general website updates and maintenance are preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite including Word and Excel.
- Working knowledge of current software tools and offices related to retention and student success.
- Direct experience working with students, faculty, and parents in a retention intervention-related capacity.
- Knowledge of retention program planning and appropriate understanding of data points indicating attrition.
