Scope of Job
PowerFlex, an EDF power solutions company, is a leading national provider of intelligent onsite energy solutions that support cost-effective and low-carbon electrification and transportation. We deliver integrated solar, storage, EV charging, and microgrid systems, to businesses and organizations. As a single full-service provider, PowerFlex customizes clean technology solutions to help clients achieve their energy and sustainability goals. Through the comprehensive PowerFlex X platform, based on proprietary technology, PowerFlex leverages patented smart software to control, monitor, and optimize a client's distributed energy resources to reduce cost and maximize return on investment. Our technology is deployed at scale to prominent commercial customers such as Adobe, DHL, Prologis, Target, and municipalities such as County of LA. PowerFlex is a top 5 provider in each of Commercial Solar, Storage and EV Charging in the US.

The Director of Supply Chain Management is accountable for the deployment of all equipment sold by PowerFlex, including PowerFlex manufactured, branded, and integrated products and equipment sourced through OEMs. This senior-level position requires a dynamic individual who can effectively lead procurement strategy, manage supply chain logistics, and oversee enterprise systems & processes. The Director of Supply Chain Management will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, business development, project management and engineering, strategy, and asset management, to ensure operational excellence and the successful delivery of our products and services.

Location
This role is open to be hybrid role (in-office 3 days a week) out of one of our offices (Mountain View, CA,San Diego, CA orNew York, NY.)

Responsibilities

  • 30% - Personnel Management
    • Supervisory responsibility for Procurement and Logistics teams (totaling 6-10 individuals)
    • Lead check-ins and performance reviews with direct reports
    • Instill a safety centric culture supported with policies and reporting
    • Maintain and encourage a culture of learning and team improvement
    • Evaluate and drive goals within the team
  • 40% - Procurement Oversight
    • Lead key supplier relationships with regards to pricing, commercial terms, quality and logistics
    • Lead procurement strategy in collaboration with Policy and Business Development teams on an ongoing basis, as well as in response to major policy changes (e.g. safe harboring)
    • Lead RFPs for major business-critical equipment categories
    • Responsible for Approved Vendor List
    • Collaborate with Project Engineering & Project Management leadership to assess new vendor needs and escalate issues with existing vendors
    • Responsible for equipment cost reduction efforts for over $100MM in equipment purchased per year
  • 30% - Supply Chain Oversight
    • Responsible for all warehousing, production and logistics
    • Responsible for managing all inventory based on demand-based forecasting
    • Responsible for on-time inventory reporting
    • Support new product releases through systems and product availability
    • Collaborate with Hardware Engineering and Product Management to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction
    • Oversee operations of the Mountain View fulfillment facility

Qualifications
Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 8+ years' experience in the renewable energy sector or related industry
  • Demonstrated expertise in strategic sourcing, supply chain management, change management, and digital operations

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams
  • Strategic expertise in the renewable energy and electric vehicle industry
  • Ability to develop business plans, build consensus, implement, and deliver results
  • Skills in reporting and dashboard tools including PowerBI
  • Strong communication (written and oral) skills
  • Strong Microsoft and NetSuite enterprise software skill

Compensation
The pay range for this position is $159,570 - $195,030 annually. This position is eligible for PowerFlex's comprehensive Health and Welfare plans including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, 401(k) retirement plan and paid time off. The total compensation for this position may include an annual performance bonus (or other incentive compensation, as applicable). PowerFlex's compensation packages carefully consider a candidate's qualifications, experiences, and education in relation to the position.

Supervision of Others
This role includes managing others through subordinate supervisors and carries responsibility for reviewing performance and making recommendations regarding salary adjustments, promotions, transfers, demotions, and terminations. It also involves providing strategic oversight to ensure the team's activities align with broader organizational goals.

Fiscal Responsibilities
This role leads financial planning and strategy for the department, including long-term budget forecasting and investment recommendations. It also includes developing, monitoring, and managing the annual departmental budget to ensure financial targets are consistently achieved.

Physical Requirements

  • Remaining in a seated position. Long hours on computer keyboard. Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking.
  • Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 25 pounds occasionally

Working Conditions
Approximately 90% of the time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher and Adobe etc.), telephones, and general office equipment. Possibly 10% of the time is spent traveling to conferences or meetings or field traveling to project sites.
