Line Construction Analyst II: $64,500 - $$80,600
Sr Line Construction Analyst: $72,900 - $97,200
Lead Line Construction Analyst: $86,000 - $114,700

Scheduled Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Other hours as required)

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Manager of Distribution Project Management, the Line Construction Analyst supports a varied portfolio of contracts and purchase orders related to distribution construction capital investments. This role serves as a subject matter expert in financial management for assigned contracts and purchase orders, representing Evergy in interactions with external business partners. The analyst is responsible for fostering and maintaining positive, productive relationships with both internal stakeholders and external contractors. Key responsibilities include managing dispute resolution related to invoicing, contract sourcing events, and system access. Additionally, this role acts as a liaison for the Distribution Project Management team, overseeing financial expenditures and supporting contractor onboarding processes.

Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

* Issuing and managing requisitions, Purchase Orders, supplier invoicing, supplier sourcing, and accrual process management with all contractors on a regular basis.
* Utilize technology and tools to track contract status, construction completion, and capital investment by project and jurisdiction.
* Work with the Distribution Project Management Coordinators to ensure our distribution resource plan is accurate and maintained.
* Must closely monitor capital expenditures for projects assigned to the Distribution Project Management team while reporting the financial performance of those projects.
* Supports our Distribution Ops Financial Management team to review and report monthly on all contractors' accruals for the previous month.
* Determine, interpret, and ensure contract obligations and performance measures are being met by all parties.
* Contribute to the successful financial performance of the business unit by identifying cost saving opportunities and documenting achievements especially those associated with change order management.
* Participate in aspects of our procurement process and support our defined sourcing events.
* Apply analytical and business knowledge, techniques, and procedures.
* Support and maintain our Project Management Office Systems and processes for collecting and reporting contractor performance and capital investment strategy data.
* Provides inclement weather support as a Storms Analyst.
* Support contractor onboarding

Education and Experience Requirements:

Candidate must have a bachelor's degree in, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Project Management, or a related field. Experience with business resource tools such as, Power Plan, Oracle, PeopleSoft, and Power BI is preferred. Specific experience in distribution operations or related operations experience is preferred. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required:

* Working knowledge of job types and assets being managed and constructed.
* Motivated self-starter who embraces opportunity within all challenges.
* Experience or a general knowledge of work and business processes related to project controls management for large construction projects.
* Understanding of financial reporting and assimilating information for reports.
* Ability to work independently and solve problems without much guidance or direction.
* Good administrative and technical abilities to deal with large volumes of data and deal with multiple priorities and projects. Requires comprehensive skills in personal computer applications, and preferred knowledge of distribution work and financial system applications. Working knowledge of Windows, databases and spreadsheets required.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to present information to other work groups in a concise manner.
* Ability to work effectively with others in a team environment and build relationships with all customers and work groups. Must demonstrate exceptional skills in interpersonal relations, self-motivation and organization and must be able to hold others accountable.
* Coachable and willing to learn from others and humble to recognize limits of their own knowledge.
