Temple University's Lewis Katz School of Medicine is searching for a Research Technician! Position Summary: Under the direction and supervision of Dr. Torres-Ayuso, principal investigator, the selected Research Technician will provide technical support by performing basic scientific experiments. They will also maintain record of data. The candidate will be responsible for ordering laboratory material, maintain a lab inventory, and assist the principal investigator in maintaining laboratory data and equipment. Required Education and Experience: * 3 years of prior lab experience in molecular and cellular Biology Preferred Education and Experience: * Experience in cell biology (cell culture, DNA and siRNA transfection), and molecular biology and biochemistry (i.e., cloning, DNA and RNA isolation, cell lysis, and immunoblot) Required Skills and Abilities: * Self-motivated, highly enthusiastic, well organized, and willing to work collaboratively as part of a research team. * Excellent communication skills Essential Duties: * Perform molecular and cellular biology experiments to validate novel protein kinases as targets in squamous cell carcinomas * Practice of sterile technique, cell culture, cell transfection, bacteria culture, bacteria transformation, DNA/RNA/protein isolation, PCR, immunoblot. * Maintain detailed records of all experiments and protocols per lab and university policies. * Oversee ordering laboratory material and assist the principal investigator in maintaining laboratory data and equipment. * Present results from their research at lab meetings and local workshops/conferences. * May assist the principal investigator in supervising/training undergraduate and medical students. * Performs other duties as assigned Temple University is committed to a policy of equal opportunity for all in every aspect of its operations, including employment, service, and educational programs.
