Job Overview:

The shift lead functions as a Shift Lead Registrar who is responsible for committing to the UHS Service of Excellence Standards, register patients accurately and efficiently, perform initial financial screenings and counseling, obtain necessary patient consents, collects money due at the time of service, and complies with all hospital and department policies and procedures. Additionally, the Shift Lead assists with the process of monitoring productivity filling in open shifts as necessary, completing audits for accuracy of registrations, monitoring and completing Cerner WQ's, scheduling staff, training new staff members and providing input to employee evaluations and employee counseling. Always Demonstrates Service Excellence. Other duties as assigned.

General Responsibilities:

• Attends monthly staff meetings
• Utilities HDX, Availity, and other hospital systems to accurately identify and verify patient eligibility for services rendered.
• Monitors the hospitals adherence to deadlines for Charity and Medicaid funding sources. Reviews the financial counseling compliance with the Charity and Medicaid programs eligibility process.
• Participate in committees as assigned. Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned. Attends meetings, in-services, and educational seminars. Share knowledge with others.
• Forwards requests for disciplinary action to the Admit Manager when deemed appropriate per hospital policy. Assists with documentation and provides input during the counseling process.
• Provides input to 90 Day and Annual Evaluations within 1 week of request.
• Assists with the process for hiring new employees. Assists with the maintenance of job descriptions for all positions. Ensure that all employees receive adequate orientation and training.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School graduate or 2-year degree preferred.

• 1 year of registration experience in a hospital admission required. Supervisor or Lead experience preferred.
