The Industrial Wood Lab is seeking a Senior R&D Manager to lead the development and commercialization efforts for new and existing products designed for Industrial Wood Market Segments. This individual will work closely with Industrial Wood Sales and Marketing to identify the needs and timelines for product development projects and will coordinate project activities with all the pertinent functions within SW.

Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company's staff, employees, and business relationships.

* Manages all lab priorities and projects, including new product development, product modifications, maintenance of business, and continuous improvement with ability to quickly adapt to changes that ensure proper service to our customers.
* Manages laboratory staff with responsibility of hiring, training, developing, and managing performance.
* Key technical champion accountable for deliverables on stage gate projects
* Collaborates with key stakeholders to build product roadmaps and effectively manage the technology portfolio.
* Manages customer requests and collaborates with key stakeholders to support customers through problem resolution.
* Collaborates with key stakeholders to ensure successful customer transitions.
* Participates in industry trade associations and serves as key technical contact for industrial wood technologies and applications.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment (without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment work visa and/or permanent residence status).
* Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math field.
* 8 years of experience in coating formulation and applications.
* 5 years of experience in managing/supervising direct report(s).
* Must have a minimum of 5 years new product development experience.
* Must have previous project management experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* 10+ years of product development and commercialization experience
* Knowledge and experience in Industrial Wood coating formulations and processes
* Knowledge and experience in Industrial Wood market segments and regulations
* Training in Design of Experiments and Design for Six Sigma
* Proven project management and leadership skills
* Proven talent management and development skills

Travel Requirements: 20% Domestic and International
