Genesis10 is currently seeking a Software Engineer for a 3+ month contract role in the financial industry with our client in Appleton, WI. This role is 100% remote.
Summary: Project they will be working on: They will join one of the product teams supporting enterprise payments. The team's current priorities include migrating payment capabilities to support the migrations of products from GIAS and completing the Client Data Modernization (CDM) initiative that is decommissioning CIF. The Client data modernization project - currently they have a centralized hub for client data and they are decommissioning that hub and all the data needs to be moved to the appropriate products and they need to change their systems to have that data with different call services etc. Responsibilities: This software engineer role requires a foundational level of experience in both Java and Mainframe technologies, specifically COBOL and ideally CICS. The engineer will contribute to applications that span both Java based services and legacy mainframe applications, which are closely integrated. We are open to candidates who are stronger in one area, provided they bring hands-on experience in the other. For example, a candidate with deep Java expertise must also have practical exposure to COBOL and mainframe environments, or vice versa. The key requirement is that the candidate can ramp up quickly and meaningfully contribute across both domains. Tech environment is Java, spring, devops, kafka, github and some react front end. They need to have Kafka, they are moving from Rabbit MQ to Kafka and some work is already in Kafka. Must have the DevOps mindset and continuous delivery mindset. They are also moving from Bit Bucket to Github. Most of the java work is more back end services work vs. front end work. A lot of integration to their legacy mainframe systems and that is where the cobol, cics experience is needed. They also want someone who can drive their work, move with a sense of urgency and work in agile environment. They have moved from a project to a product environment and there is 1 product owner for 2 scrum teams. Each scrum team has 7 developers. Compensation: Hourly W2 pay: $75.00 to $85.00/hour We have access to additional contract, contract-to-hire, and direct hire positions with various rate ranges.
