Title: Systems Engineer (Linux Administrator) Location: Salt Lake City, UT - 84101 Duration: 06 months Job Description Role will require 1 weekend day every week (Saturday or Sunday. Weekend days are onsite. Possible Schedules are Tuesday - Saturday: 10:30AM - 6:30PM or Sunday - Thursday: 10:30 AM - 6:30 PM per team needs (After Oct shifts to 9:30 am - 5:30 pm) Position requires 5 days in the office per week in Salt Lake City. As a Linux Administrator, you will be the Tier 1 / Tier 2 support of the Business systems in a 24x7 follow-the-sun model. This will entail alert management, OS troubleshooting, and working to restore service in a robust Enterprise Environment. * Monitoring of Linux/Unix systems * Troubleshooting of systems * Alert Management * Incident Management * Working with clients across our Business Units to maintain and restore service * Automation of activities through scripting and configuration management * Working with Hardware teams to maintain the physical server estate * Documentation of processes and procedures for the team Preferred Qualifications: * Experience in Red Hat Linux Administration * 3+ years of Unix/Linux systems administration experience * Strong core OS troubleshooting experience * Scripting experience in Shell, Bash, Perl and/or Python * Virtualization experience in VMware or OpenShift * Networking knowledge/skills * Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise-grade server hardware such as HP and Dell rackmount servers * Experience using remote management interfaces like Dell iDRAC, HP iLO, VMware vCenter/vSphere * An automation-first mindset * Incident management experience * Prior experience in the Financial Service Industry is a plus * Prior Enterprise experience is a plus * Relevant certifications are a strong plus | |
