Summary:

The Senior Director of Cardiac Procedural Services is the vital link between the mission and vision of Maine Medical Center, the MaineHealth Cardiovascular Service Line, and the delivery of safe patient and family centered care that is compassionate, evidence-based, and provides highest quality care. This role reports through the Chief Operations Officer with a matrix reporting relationship to the Vice President of the MH Cardiovascular Service Line. This role requires dyad relationships with the EP Lab, Cath Lab, VAD, and ECMO Medical Directors, and close partnership with physicians, senior administration, directors and other professional colleagues to meet the diverse and continually changing challenges of the health care environment. The Senior Director will oversee Cardiac Cath and Electrophysiology labs, Perfusion, and MMCP hospital-based cardiac testing. These services must be positioned to be creative, autonomous, future-oriented, risk-taking entrepreneurs who apply clinical and operational expertise, strategic and critical thinking, and effective leadership and management skills to ensure that quality care is provided through satisfied and inspired professionals within cardiac services at Maine Medical Center Portland and within the Cardiovascular Service Line.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Requires Bachelor of Science in Nursing; Master's strongly preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: Requires current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine.
  3. Experience: A minimum of five years of experience as a Registered Nurse experienced in invasive cardiovascular services and three years of progressive leadership experience in a complex acute care hospital.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Ability to make independent judgments to resolve complex problems consistent with accepted practices in invasive cardiovascular laboratories setting. Strong business acumen, the ability to execute on strategy, the ability to engage physicians, administration, staff, patients, and families, and a strong attention to detail will be required. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, physicians, administrators, as well other departments including Nursing. Candidates must be clinically astute with a passion for cardiovascular services and continuous process improvement.
