About the role:

The Global Upstream Marketing Manager will be responsible for coordinating upstream marketing programs and initiatives for the rapidly evolving CRM product portfolio. The role will partner with product marketing and functional leaders across the franchise to identify patient and physician needs, anticipate market trends, identify new growth opportunities, and apply quantitative insights to portfolio decision making. This role requires a deep understanding of the market, customer needs, and competitive landscape to drive product innovation and market adoption.

Your responsibilities will include:



  • Establish a deep understanding of market dynamics, clinical environments, and competitive landscapes to inform business strategies.


  • Identify, assess, and champion technology opportunities and unmet clinical needs that align with long-term Franchise business objectives.


  • Develop and implement upstream marketing processes and strategies to support the growth of CRM product lines including Implantable Cardiac Defibrillators (ICD), Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy - Defibrillators (CRT-D), Modular CRM (mCRM) and Conduction System Pacing (CSP).
  • Partner with Marketing Strategy & Analytics on market research to identify customer needs, market trends, and competitive intelligence.
  • Spend time with sales reps and customers to gain insights and build meaningful relationships with physicians and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, R&D, clinical, business development and regulatory, to define product requirements and ensure successful product development.
  • Create and manage product road maps, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, and industry stakeholders.
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analyses to evaluate new investment opportunities and support business development initiatives.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and customer meetings.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to senior leadership, providing insights on business issues, industry trends, and strategic direction.
  • Represent the voice of the customer and the market within the organization to influence innovation and commercialization strategies.
  • Make recommendations on product launch cadence leveraging a broad organizational, technical capability and competitive perspective.


  • Maintain a global perspective in uncovering geography specific portfolio needs.



Required qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in medical device marketing, strategy, or R&D
  • Ability to travel up to 25%



Preferred qualifications:



  • Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Comprehensive understanding of medical device upstream marketing
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac rhythm management products and market dynamics.


  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and critical thinking skills.
  • High competency with quantitative assessment and financial modeling.


  • Adept at high stakes decision making and prioritization.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cohesively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Strength to engage and influence cross-functional colleagues.
  • Experience with KOL relationship management and facilitation of advisory boards.
  • Advanced learning agility and ability to communicate complex concepts.
  • Willingness to work as an individual contributor.



Work Mode:
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our Arden Hills, MN office at least three days per week.

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs.
