The Regional Sales Manager - West is a field-based position reporting to the National Sales Manager with supervision responsibilities for 5-10 Key Account Managers in the assigned area. The Regional Sales Manager - West is responsible for driving regional sales performance, having an in-depth understanding of the regional landscape to identify business trends, and assessing regional business opportunities. This position requires regular in-field and virtual coaching sessions with key account managers to ensure the successful execution of commercial strategies for the American Regent portfolio. Candidate must reside in covered territory including SC, GA, FL, LA, AL, MS, TX, CA, WA, OR, ID, MT, CO, WY, NM, NV, AZ, UT, KY, TN, AR, KS, MO, OK

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, support, and develop a team of 5-10 Key Account Managers to exceed regional sales targets and objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate KAM territory quarterly business reviews to inform decisions, and course-correct when necessary.
  • Foster a high-performance culture through mentoring, live coaching, virtual training, performance reviews, and ongoing training initiatives.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing among the team.
  • Complete regularly scheduled field rides with individual team members to provide coaching, skills enhancement, and support.
  • Ensure the complaint execution of team members by driving understanding of relevant policies and guidance.

Commercial Strategy Execution

  • Implement national sales strategies at the regional level, aligning team activities with overall business objectives.
  • Plan, organize, and monitor regional performance against assigned regional goals.
  • Proactively analyze regional market trends, pricing dynamics, and competitive activities to identify market trends and adjust accordingly.

Customer & Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders
  • Act as a key liaison between the field team and internal departments (Marketing, Portfolio, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Supply Chain).

Business Analysis & Reporting

  • Monitor sales performance and market share growth.
  • Provide regular updates and insights to senior management, including formal quarterly business reviews, and use data to inform decisions and course-correct when necessary.
  • Manage contract performance, price, and rebates in line with policy.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform any other tasks/duties as assigned by management.

Education Requirements and Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of people management experience within the biopharmaceutical industry required.
  • More than 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry required.
  • 3 to 5 years of national/regional account management experience preferred.
  • GPO, IDN, wholesaler/distributor account management experience required.
  • Generic drug experience required. Experience with sterile injectables is a plus.
  • Extensive knowledge of multi-source injectable market.
  • Proven success in new product and line extension launches with GPOs, IDNs and wholesalers/distributors
  • Demonstrated ability to manage internal and external relationships
  • Contracting experience with GPOs, IDNs and wholesalers/distributors
  • Ability to work in an autonomous work environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to corporate philosophy and values
  • Recognized ability to effectively analyze data to highlight trends to assist shaping strategy
  • Utilize industry knowledge and insights to bring pertinent info to various internal stakeholders
  • Candidate can live in any state in their designated area, understanding that there may be increased travel depending upon their proximity to their assigned region and the company headquarters.
  • Extensive travel is required and estimated to be 40-60% at a minimum.

Expected Salary Range:

$142,000-$180,000

The salary range, is the minimum and maximum annual salary range of compensation for the role that the employer in good faith believes to be accurate at the time of the posting of an advertisement for the role. Actual compensation for the role will be based on a number of different factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, knowledge, skills and experience.
