Job Purpose
Responsible for building and rebuilding of Honda's racing chassis/vehicles and hybrid systems including quality control checks and final fitting of new parts, component sub-assembly or final assembly of new or rebuilt chassis, as well as teardown, inspection and measuring components. Includes the training of new associates in the correct procedures and methods used to produce high quality race components/products. Support objectives for optimal race car performance, reliability, and drivability. Perform quality inspections on chassis components, record findings. Assist in determining countermeasures for chassis/vehicle faults. Pay Range $25-35/hr through an agency. Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and some experience where the primary function of the position was maintenance and repair work on automotive and/or heavy equipment. Auto Mechanics, Automotive Technology, or a related field or possession of a certificate from a post-secondary vocational school is a plus. 3-5 years of mechanic, sub assembly or full vehicle experience. Must demonstrated ability to perform difficult repairs on all types of automobile; ability to readily and accurately diagnose mechanical difficulties; ability to read and interpret technical repair manuals, circuit diagrams and blueprints; ability to read and understand technical drawings, shop prints, mechanical curve charts, etc. Must have the ability to work from oral or written instructions and without instructions from own diagnosis; ability to lay out, organize and plan the work of others; ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the essential duties of the position; good interpersonal skills; initiative; resourcefulness; good judgment; physical strength and agility; physical condition commensurate with the duties of the position.
