PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $86,000-$110,000 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

BENEFITS

Employees and their eligible family members have access to a wide array of employee benefits, such as medical, dental, vision and life insurance coverage. Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees. Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. IMPACT YOU'LL MAKE:

As a Manager Retail Branch II, you'll lead a dynamic team in one of BECU's branches, playing a critical role in delivering meaningful financial experiences for our members. You'll create a culture of service excellence and accountability while coaching your team to meet goals and serve members with care, transparency, and integrity. Your leadership will influence everything from sales and service to community engagement and operational performance. By developing talent and driving member-focused strategies, you'll help BECU grow stronger while advancing your own career in a collaborative and purpose-driven environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Deliver on Performance Goals:
    Drive branch success through sales performance, service excellence, and community involvement-ensuring member needs are met with proactive and personalized support.
  • Coach and Develop Your Team:
    Provide consistent mentorship and career guidance that helps employees grow their skills, meet individual goals, and prepare for future opportunities.
  • Lead with Feedback and Recognition:
    Conduct regular performance reviews using BECU competencies and create a culture of appreciation and accountability by recognizing strengths and coaching growth areas.
  • Ensure Operational Excellence:
    Oversee day-to-day branch operations and scheduling, ensuring timely, accurate, and consistent service aligned with BECU standards and member expectations.
  • Build BECU's Brand in the Community:
    Engage with local communities to expand awareness of BECU's mission and services and create opportunities to grow membership and member value.
  • Champion Sales and Service Behaviors:
    Set and model clear expectations for service excellence, reinforcing positive behaviors and offering direct coaching to ensure every member experience exceeds expectations.
  • Manage Budgets and Branch Performance:
    Support annual branch budgeting in partnership with the District Director, ensuring expenses align with strategic goals and remain within approved limits.
  • Foster Relationships Internally and Externally:
    Build strong partnerships with BECU team members, business partners, and property management teams to ensure seamless branch operations and member experiences.
  • Drive Talent Acquisition and Culture:
    Collaborate with Recruiting to bring in top talent and maintain a team aligned with BECU's culture of service, trust, and continuous growth.
  • Support Cross-Functional Knowledge Sharing:
    Maintain awareness of credit union operations to ensure accurate and helpful information is shared with both members and staff.
  • Champion Continuous Improvement:
    Encourage your team to find better ways of working and improve service by participating in process enhancements and quality initiatives.
  • Stay Compliant and Brand-Aligned:
    Ensure the branch meets all regulatory, training, and BECU environmental and branding standards.
  • Lead Facility Partnerships:
    Serve as the primary contact for the facilities team and property management, keeping the branch environment safe, inviting, and consistent with BECU's image.
  • Step In Where Needed:
    Support additional duties and evolving needs that strengthen the branch and BECU's broader mission.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience
  • Minimum three years of leadership experience
  • Minimum four years of experience in a sales, retail, or banking environment

Desired Qualifications:

  • Leading a team of at least four direct reports
  • Experience in a financial institution
  • Compliance with SAFE Act legislation (annual registration as a Mortgage Loan Originator)
  • Ability to plan, organize, and implement projects in a timely manner
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
  • Strong training, mentoring, and sales skills
  • Excellent conceptual and problem-solving skills with minimal guidance
  • Ability to exercise confidentiality and discretionary judgment
  • Effective relationship development and marketing skills
  • Ability to effectively present information and/or training to individuals and groups
  • Ability to create a sales/service environment and motivate staff
  • Effective leadership and negotiation skills
  • Proficient math skills with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet branch needs
