Clariant is seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager (BDM), Mining Solutions to expand our presence across the North American mining industry. This is a virtual position with a strong preference for candidates based in Arizona, given the strategic importance of the region. This is a growth-focused, outbound business development position centered on driving new opportunities in specialty and innovation-based solutions, with a focus on core and high-potential accounts. You will serve as the strategic point of contact for new business development, engaging customers, identifying opportunities, and aligning Clariant's innovative solutions to key value drivers. The BDM will work in close coordination with Account Managers, R&D, and marketing teams to introduce new technologies and deliver tailored, high-value offerings to the U.S. mining market. Responsibilities

* Develop and execute a strategic business plan to drive new business development (NBD) across the U.S. mining sector
* Proactively engage with key mining customers, with regular site visits Tuesday through Thursday (travel-heavy schedule)
* Understand customer needs and value drivers; present tailored Clariant solutions with a consultative, value-based sales approach
* Identify, qualify, and manage sales opportunities in CRM - from early engagement through first sales
* Collaborate with R&D, marketing, and technical teams to ensure customer-centric innovation and solution development
* Participate in weekly regional project meetings to report pipeline progress, align activities, and share market insights
* Hand off accounts to Account Managers after successful onboarding and initial sales
* Support distributors with training and technical knowledge when needed
* Provide insights to global and regional innovation teams about emerging market needs and potential



Requirements

* Degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or Chemistry
* Minimum 5 years in B2B sales, business development, or technical service-preferably in the mining or chemical processing industries
* Proficient in CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and data-driven sales tools
* Excellent interpersonal and consultative skills; capable of adapting to diverse technical and commercial environments
