University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus School of Medicine | Department of Medicine | Division of General Internal Medicine Job Title: The Missing US Lab Research Manager Position: #00820437 - Requisition: #37558
Job Summary: |
The Missing US Project is more than a research lab. It is a collaborative project that includes researchers, policymakers, and community members with a shared goal: to improve our understanding of and responses to established and emerging epidemics among vulnerable and marginalized populations. The idea for this project is predicated on the notion that there are overlooked populations and hidden structural risk factors for diseases such as substance use disorders and HIV that limit our ability to end these epidemics. Fundamentally, we believe that we cannot reach people we do not know exist and are at risk. The Missing US is a collaborative, community-engaged project that merges community voices and lived experience with innovative data science and epidemiological methods to provide a more complete ground-to-cloud picture of the public health landscape than ever before. Our team includes decision scientists, epidemiologists, and community-engaged researchers who have specific expertise in some of the most important issues of our time:
Substance use and overdose Emerging infectious diseases Homelessness and housing insecurity Mental health and suicide Criminal justice reform
We work with local and national organizations, community activists, policymakers, and people with lived experience to integrate data-driven approaches into everything from patient care to guidelines to new legislation. This role will manage the growing team that makes the Missing US Project possible at CU-Anschutz. Through leading the team and juggling the many aspects of the project, this role can have a tremendous impact on outcomes for those the project strives to serve. Please be advised that this position is not eligible now or in the future for visa sponsorship. Key Responsibilities:
Provide oversight, direction, and leadership for all project operations in partnership with the PI. Develop short- and long-term program/project goals of the research program and communicate goals and outcomes with a variety of stakeholders. Hire, train, supervise, coach and direct four or more team members. Serves as an expert resource and may provide training to research program team members regarding ECRF and EDC design, data management and cleaning, data security, data standards, data flow, and return of results. Independently develop portions of funding proposals and grants. Navigates processes and people involved in research at CU, demonstrates organizational awareness, and has the interpersonal skill necessary to get work done efficiently.
