Position Summary:
The Lead Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) provides high-quality patient care and influences healthcare decision-making through expert clinical practice and evidence-based research, while also assisting in the onboarding and professional development of APRN staff. Additionally, the Lead APRN collaborates with nursing management for staff selection, performance assessment, and supports departmental missions through advocacy and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide direct patient care with advanced clinical expertise, evaluate patient outcome trends, and collaborate with leadership to implement practice or system changes.
  2. Develop and coordinate APRN onboarding, training, and professional development in collaboration with Clinical Education and Informatics.
  3. Collaborate with leadership on APRN performance reviews, competency assessments, and work assignments while maintaining a supportive and collaborative work environment.
  4. Coach, mentor, and provide feedback to APRNs, promote collaboration, and develop individualized improvement plans.
  5. Address fiscal, regulatory, and legal constraints, identify and overcome barriers to patient care, and drive strategic initiatives to ensure continuous quality improvement and adherence to hospital policies.

Minimum Requirements:
Education

  • Master's Degree; Nursing

Licensure/Cert

  • Current MA license as a Registered Nurse
  • Current MA license as a Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) or Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist (PCNS)
  • MA Controlled Substance Registration (unless credentialed w/ modified prescription privileges per Core Privilege document
  • DEA License (unless credentialed w/ modified prescription privileges per Core Privilege document)
  • Current National Certification as a Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) or Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist (PCNS) granted by a Board recognized certifying organization.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of APRN experience
