The Life Enrichment Specialist is responsible for delivering Life Enrichment programming designed to meet and honor the physical, social, spiritual, sensory and psychological needs of all residents based on an assessment of their individual needs and interests. This position is responsible for advocating and promoting resident participation and choice.

About Us: Ecumen Pathstone is hiring a Life Enrichment / Activities Specialist. Ecumen Pathstone is a campus community offering comprehensive care services. Ecumen Pathstone consists of assisted living, long-term care, rehabilitation care, memory care, adult day services, and independent living. Ecumen also offers homecare and hospice- all within the Mankato, MN area. Schedule: Full-Time. Monday - Friday 9a-5:30p. Work every 4th Saturday with the following Monday off.

Pay: The targeted pay range for this job is $19.00 - $21.00 per hour. Ecumen considers a variety of factors when determining new hire pay including experience, qualifications, and, when applicable, certifications, licenses, and education.

Essential Job Responsibilities:




  1. Assesses residents' life enrichment needs upon admission and ongoing.



  2. Plans and leads individual and group activities based on residents' interests and care plans.



  3. Encourages participation and documents involvement in programs.



  4. Supports social engagement and confidence through activities.



  5. Assists with transporting residents to activities, outings, and appointments.



  6. Maintains organized supplies and communicates supply needs.



  7. Coordinates events with other departments and provides advance notice as needed.



  8. Updates and posts daily and monthly activity calendars.



  9. Supports team members and helps with general building needs.



  10. Performs other duties as assigned.





Driving Requirements: Local Travel and Driver's License Required

Minimum Required Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 year related experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of the field of geriatrics and the interpersonal, spiritual and psycho-social needs of older adults.
  • Valid Drivers License, proof of insurance and satisfactory motor vehicle record
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, Resident's Bill of Rights, OSHA, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, Right to know, HUD Policy and Procedures, ADA, Fair Housing laws and regulations and SDS



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Previous experience working with seniors
  • ADC, ACC or CTRS
