OVERVIEW

Merrick is hiring a Business Development Manager / Technical Sales Manager focused on the power distribution industry in Texas. This role will have the opportunity to steer our power market capture plan in the Texas power market. The preferred candidate will be familiar with the Texas Electric Cooperatives (TEC), key companies in the Texas distribution market, and technical considerations in power distribution. Individual must be a self-starter who is not afraid of autonomy or creative thinking.

Annual salary range for this position is $125,400.00 - $162,300.00. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Provide guidance, analysis, and leadership into how and where, in Texas, Merrick considers expanding our distribution engineering and design team.
  • Work closely with Merrick's San Antonio distribution design and engineering team. Learn about the team, clients, and capabilities and capture new work with existing clients for existing services.
  • Build a Merrick presence within the Texas Electric Cooperatives.
  • Help evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures and criteria to perform work for new clients or new work for existing clients.
  • Apply general knowledge of principles and practices of related fields in support of participation on multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Act independently to identify and attend conferences and industry events that facilitate Merrick's growth in the Power industry.
  • Travel will fluctuate but must be willing and able to travel approximately 25-50% of the time.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 8 years of power distribution design and engineering
  • Knowledge of the Texas power market
  • Firsthand experience with the Texas Electric Cooperatives
  • Electric distribution system design and engineering experience
  • Experience with GIS data management and GIS design
  • Experience with AutoCAD based drawing generation
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable under Merrick's insurance carrier
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without Sponsorship.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in either Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering with Electrical Emphasis Engineering.
  • PE License in Texas (can be obtained after hire)
