Systems Engineer - Full Performance

This position requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.

We are seeking a Systems Engineer - Full Performance level to support the design, implementation, and management of enterprise-scale Microsoft Azure environments for a key government customer. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of hands-on experience with Azure infrastructure and services, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across technical and business teams. This role requires a solid foundation in cloud networking, security, and system performance, along with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and continuous improvement.

Systems Engineer - Full Performance Responsibilities Include:

  • Serve as an Expert-level Cloud Network Engineer supporting a mission-critical government program focused on delivering and maintaining a secure, scalable enterprise platform.
  • Design, implement, and manage cloud-based network infrastructure within Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 (M365) environments.
  • Support the transition from legacy systems to a fully integrated cloud enterprise solution, contributing to the development of a platform that will replace the customer's current enterprise suite of services.
  • Ensure the reliability, performance, and security of cloud network services, with a focus on high availability, scalability, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support end-to-end cloud network architecture, integration, and operations across the enterprise.
  • Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot cloud network systems to maintain service continuity and performance.
  • Contribute to cloud modernization initiatives and infrastructure-as-code practices to streamline operations and reduce manual processes.
  • Stay current on emerging cloud technologies and best practices, applying innovations to improve platform efficiency and functionality.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Systems Engineer - Full Performance Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • TS/SCI with polygraph
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and managing large-scale Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Strong technical proficiency in key Azure services, including:
    • Azure Storage
    • Azure Networking
    • Network Security Groups (NSGs)
    • Azure Firewall
    • Azure Monitor
    • Load Balancers
    • Azure VPN Gateway
    • Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex Azure-related issues in a dynamic, enterprise environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications, such as:
    • Azure Solutions Architect Expert
    • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
    • Azure Network Engineer Associate
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Experience with DevOps tools, including Azure DevOps and Git.
  • Knowledge of cloud security standards and compliance frameworks such as HIPAA and PCI-DSS.
  • Hands-on experience in Azure and Microsoft 365 migration and deployment projects.
  • Cloud security certifications such as CompTIA Security+.
  • Familiarity with the Sysinternals Tool Suite for advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting.
