Job Summary

Provides leadership and guidance to direct reports. Oversees safety inspections and incident management for business unit. Ensures compliance with applicable safety standards and regulations. Maintains comprehensive knowledge of government safety regulations. Ensures that actions are taken to correct deficiencies or violations of standards, investigates hazardous conditions, manages and reviews job-site specific contracts, and interfaces with federal, state, and local regulatory officials.


Essential Duties

  • Oversees, mentors, and nurtures direct reports such as Site Safety Coordinators and Safety Coordinators. Ensures strict adherence to safety protocols, policies, and practices, with a focus on documentation and prompt corrective actions. Facilitates comprehensive and constructive performance evaluations.
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to uphold site regulations and exceed expectations. Acts as a key intermediary between the General Contractor and Site Safety Coordinators, facilitating discussions on necessary corrective measures.
  • Maintains and analyzes safety data for trends, deficiencies or improvements and formulates a plan to address. Communicates with leadership to address the trends.
  • Conducts and reviews incident investigations for all incidents and near misses.
  • Reviews and manages worker's compensation case management for assigned business unit(s).
  • Performs documented job site inspections and safety observations.
  • Trains Partners (e.g. Site Safety Coordinators, Safety Coordinators, Foreman, Superintendents, Projects Managers and other staff as required) on safety procedures, processes, and rules.
  • Communicates to the appropriate personnel, in a timely manner, any hazards, incidents, etc. that may affect the safety activity of the job site, business unit or Partners.
  • Responsible for review and compliance of all job-site specific contracts and customer documents related to environmental health and safety.

Minimum Requirements

  • Preferably holds a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Maintains appropriate safety trainer status such as 501, CPR, First Aid, AED.
  • Construction Health and Safety Technician Certification (CHST), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), Associate Safety Professional (ASP) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong leadership and effective team management and development skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability.
  • Strong knowledge of Safety Rules & Regulations.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
