Reporting to the Senior Director within IT Finance, the Director of IT Finance is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial strategy, performance, and operational efficiency of Global Data and Technology Services (GDATS), specifically data analytics and information security. Managing a large annual budget, this role drives advanced financial modeling, leverages deep analytical expertise, fosters high-impact business partnerships, and shapes investment strategies to optimize IT solutions in a multi-national, global organization. The Director will lead cross-functional collaboration, align financial objectives with enterprise goals, and provide visionary leadership to ensure the GDATS organization delivers measurable value to the organization. This is a fully remote position within the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Financial Modeling: Lead the development of sophisticated financial models to support enterprise-wide budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning for GDATS. Employ advanced scenario analysis, predictive modeling, and risk assessment to drive data-informed investment decisions and optimize financial outcomes for current and future-state IT solutions.

  • Analytical Leadership: Oversee comprehensive financial and operational analysis to uncover trends, mitigate risks, and identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency. Utilize cutting-edge tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Power Query) to deliver actionable, enterprise-level insights that enhance GDATS performance and align with corporate objectives.

  • High-Impact Business Partnering: Build and maintain strategic partnerships with GDATS functional leadership teams, as well as leaders across business units. Serve as a trusted advisor, translating complex financial insights into strategic recommendations that drive operational excellence and foster cross-functional alignment.

  • Investment Strategy Leadership: Direct the creation, validation, and execution of business cases for GDATS initiatives, including major IT infrastructure investments, mergers and acquisitions, and portfolio optimization. Develop and implement investment strategies that maximize ROI while balancing risk, ensuring alignment with the organization's long-term vision.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting Oversight: Spearhead the development, coordination, and refinement of all GDATS fiscal budgets and forecasts, working closely with Domain Leads and the GDATS finance group. Provide strategic oversight of GDATS cost centers, ensuring precision in monthly financial forecasts and alignment with enterprise priorities.

  • Executive Financial Reporting: Design and present executive-level financial reports, dashboards, and ad-hoc analyses to senior leadership, highlighting key performance indicators, financial variances, and actionable strategic recommendations to drive informed decision-making.

  • Cross-Unit Financial Strategy: Partner with the Lead, Technology Business Management to establish and optimize IT allocations and chargebacks across business units. Collaborate with Finance and Accounting leaders to analyze IT spend drivers, identify efficiencies, and implement cost-saving initiatives that enhance enterprise value.

  • Policy and Process Innovation: Develop and enforce standardized IT finance policies and procedures across business units to ensure consistency, transparency, and compliance. Lead transformative improvements in financial systems and processes to drive efficiency, scalability, and accuracy for a global organization.

  • Long-Range Strategic Planning: Play a pivotal role in shaping GDATS's long-term strategic plans, providing financial leadership and innovative solutions to support enterprise growth, technological innovation, and competitive advantage.

  • Team Leadership and Development: Manage and mentor a high-performing team of IT finance professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Drive talent development to build a robust pipeline of financial expertise within GDATS.

  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform related duties as assigned to support the evolving strategic needs of GDATS and the broader organization.

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA, CFA, or CPA required.

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in financial leadership, IT finance, or a related field, with a proven track record in financial modeling, investment strategy, and enterprise-level financial management, preferably within a Fortune 10 or equivalent organization.

  • Expertise in advanced financial modeling tools and data analysis platforms, with the ability to leverage technology to drive insights at scale.

  • Exceptional business partnering skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with C-suite executives, cross-functional leaders, and diverse stakeholders in a complex, global organization.

  • Strategic vision with extensive experience in developing and executing investment strategies that align with enterprise goals and deliver measurable value.

  • Proven leadership in managing high-performing teams, with a focus on talent development, process innovation, and operational excellence.

  • Demonstrates outstanding analytical prowess and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Knowledge of various financial and information management areas such as accounting principles, cost accounting, plan development, resource utilization, productivity and profitability analysis, estimation and scope management techniques.

  • Outstanding knowledge of data analysis, data mining tools including data warehouse applications, MS Access, MS Excel, and other query and reporting tools. Preferred knowledge of Apptio.

  • Experience interacting with executive management and explaining complex alternative financial models to senior level audiences.

  • Ability to apply fact-based analytical techniques.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform detailed and complex financial modeling for future state business designs.

  • Demonstrated ability to work flexibly on multiple projects.

  • Working knowledge of financial and planning software packages.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

  • Ability to follow and interpret profit and loss statements

  • Strong conceptual and problem solving skills

  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills

  • Strong organizational skills; attention to detail

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
