Concrete Dispatch Supervisor

General Summary

This position is responsible for providing leadership and oversite for the Ready Mix concrete dispatch team, partnering with the sales team, and ensuring that our customers' needs are met, while working in alignment with business objectives.

Job Accountabilities

1. Comply, understand, and promote corporate and division safety initiatives to ensure "Safety Before All Else."

2. Using the "Working together" principles, collaborate and reach across company lines and work with other operating divisions and Corporate to achieve Graniterock's overall "One Company" vision.

3. Deliver on financial objectives, participate in the preparation of the annual profit plan, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions for Logistics.

4. Responsible for overall concrete scheduling, delivery, and mixer truck efficiency: work with customers to accommodate orders, perform frequent jobsite checks, and partner with sales team to provide world class customer service in alignment with business objectives.

5. Recruit, select, and coach Team Members on performance management to set and communicate objectives, identify and reward employee success, provide advancement opportunities to ensure a high performance culture. Work with Products Operations Group supervisors to ensure compliance with all OSHA, environmental and all other local, state and federal requirements.

6. Be a visible model and champion to build, nurture and maintain an inclusive, collaborative culture within the Products Operating Group, consistent with Graniterock's Culture of Compassion and Accountability.

7. Work Collaboratively with your peers to leverage the strengths of our team in delivering on our Market Facing strategy.

8. Ensure operations are conducted withing union shop guidelines

Education and Work Experience

High school diploma or equivalent

5+ years transportation dispatch and/or transportation driver experience with increasing level of responsibility

5+ years experience in Construction Materials or equivalent.

5+ years experience managing Aggregate, Materials or Construction operations including staffing, and planning desired.

3+ years of outside sales experience preferred.

Prior supervisory experience preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Thorough knowledge of concrete plant operations management.

* Knowledge of concrete mix designs with the ability to make proper recommendations and judgments regarding their use.

* Ability to understand financial statements and information; successfully implement business plan and achieve proposed Profit Plan.

* Knowledge of general construction business practices.

* Ability to travel to and visit jobsites on a regular basis

* Knowledge of environmental and concrete waste materials best management practices.

* Demonstrated knowledge of DOT, OSHA and environmental regulations.

* Ability to provide leadership in developing productivity measures and establishing processes to eliminate waste, lower costs and maximize plants and equipment without compromising quality.

* Ability to champion Graniterock's Safety culture and drive achievement of zero lost-time injuries/property damage incidents.

* Knowledge of union shop environment, including the collective bargaining process as well as all employee related laws and regulations.

* Excellent communication, organizational, supervisory, decision making and problem-solving skills required.

* Demonstrated ability to address multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

* Proficiency with all MS Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Strong written and oral communication skills to effectively disseminate information.

* Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
