JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY:

The Graphic Designer is primarily responsible for generating compelling visuals to describe products and set the tone for the overall client experience. The designer will work in collaboration with team members to produced visual communications in many formats including, but not limited to: web-based communication including blogs, digital presentations, point of purchase sales aids, signage, traditional printed-collateral, and print media. The incumbent will adapt style to best fit the message and medium while aligning with brand standards and understand the full creative process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the Marketing Group's objectives by creating deliverables that align to campaign objectives and budgets, and give compelling reasons for target audience to engage.
  • Translate data into easy-to-digest, high impact, visual, and audible elements that work in the full spectrum of marketing and communications channels including online, offline, broadcast, social media, press, etc.
  • Drive innovation and differentiation of the brands.
  • Serve as liaison between internal marketing and external communication groups. Interface with outside designers or creative teams, photographers, freelance artists, production vendors and various other partners.
  • Create and present various graphic and visual or audio concepts/approaches through use of sketches, outlines, sample cuts, and wireframes.
  • Revise, edit, and proofread content as needed/directed.
  • Work within tight deadlines, respond in a timely manner and follow through with assignments.
  • Continually refine and document brand and graphic identity standards and review materials to ensure communications are cohesive and in alignment with the company standards.
  • Analyze and adjust based on feedback from the market and metrics and continually seek ways to optimize design to improve performance and results.
  • Research competitors and keep abreast of market trends and trends in advertising design.
  • Output press-ready files for print and digital applications

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Graphic Arts or related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience in the communications field working with writers, photographers, printers, graphic designers.
  • Demonstrable graphic design skills exhibited through a strong portfolio
  • Must have excellent computer skills including knowledge of Macintosh and PCs and related software including the following: Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat) and Microsoft office suite.
  • Video editing experience with Adobe Premiere Pro highly preferred
  • Detailed oriented with the ability to conduct final proofs

  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
  • Ability to operate related equipment to perform the essential job functions
  • Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions
  • Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions
  • Ability to distinguish colors and differentiate color values and hues
  • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 10 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division an "undue hardship" then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.
