Merchant Platform is at the forefront of digital advertising, Pinterest has a great selection of well-known merchants and has a relevant audience who seeks inspirations everyday on our platform. It's a dream come true to provide inspiration to realization for our pinners. Merchant Activation & Scale is responsible for helping merchants better choose and craft the best products to be delivered to pinners. We're looking for a talented Staff Full Stack Engineer to lead Catalog Foundation & Scale team and rapidly iterate with a strong focus on cross-team and cross-functional partnership.

What you'll do:



  • Own the technical direction and roadmap for a major area in the Merchant team.
  • Exemplar for technical quality - design, implementation, documentation, code reviews.
  • Develop experiences that lead to improvements to the retrieval systems.
  • Collaborate with product partners in defining the outcomes and direction of the product.
  • Collaborate and be a thought partner to cross-functional teams to build scalable and resilient technical solutions.
  • Be a multiplier on the team, mentor and uplevel team members



What we're looking for:



  • BS or higher degree in Computer Science
  • 8+ years working experience in the engineering teams that build user-facing products. Commerce, Ad tech experience a plus
  • Deep understanding of Full Stack development and best practices in Python and/or Java, etc.
  • Experience in following best practices in writing reliable and maintainable code that may be used by many other engineers
  • Ability to keep up-to-date with new technologies to understand what should be incorporated
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills

In-Office Requirement Statement:



  • We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.
  • This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times per month and therefore needs to be in a commutable distance from one of the following offices in Bay Area or Seattle.
