Nokia of America Corporation, Sr. Software Development Engineer (Multiple Positions), Sunnyvale, CA Design and develop various infrastructure and security features for Nokia's Virtualized Services Directory (VSD) product. Assist in the implementation of server-side use cases, root cause analysis, and bug fixes in various modules linked to the VSD's policy management application. Improve the reliability of VSD by evaluating and implementing updated data storage strategies for the database. Improve the mediation/communication interfaces with the managed Cloud and Network Element entities in term of scale and rapidity of information exchange between the source and destination. Identify and troubleshoot performance and scaling issues, including designing new monitoring tools. Troubleshoot complex application workflows and offer performance tuning agility which includes monitoring of the running of existing versions of applications and planning out of core infrastructure enhancements for the next releases. Provide measurable input into new products, processes, standards or operational plans in support of business strategies. Analyze, develop and implement concepts and solutions as a subject matter expert. #LI-DNI Telecommuting from a location within commuting distance of Sunnyvale, CA may be permitted up to 40%. Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Systems, Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Systems or a related field, and 6 years of experience (of which 5 years must be post-bachelor's, progressive related work experience). Or a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Systems, Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Systems or a related field, and 4 years of related work experience. Of the required experience, must have 4 years of experience with the following: Java coding (J2EE) and, Java application server deployments, including JBoss; Perform analysis of a JVM thread dump or a heap dump; Relational databases, including MySQL or Hibernate; Write applications to be deployed on Linux servers; Messaging queue technologies: ActiveMQ or Kafka; Scripting languages: Linux Bash and Python; and Agile Scrum Development Methodology.
