Job Objective:
Diagnose problems and perform necessary repairs on rotating equipment and/or related mechanical equipment and help maintain a safe work environment for the company.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on gas turbines, pumps, motors, generators.
- Work closely with facility operators, leads, and foreman to accurately schedule shutdowns and minimize production loss.
- Work closely with operations leads to improve preventive maintenance programs for all mechanical equipment in the facility.
- Maintain computer maintenance records for organizing preventive maintenance on schedule and assess that the schedule is adequate.
- Observe HMI, equipment performance, and lube oil performance reports in order to detect potential failures before they occur.
- Perform overhead crane inspections
- Gas Turbines: Troubleshooting, replace accessory equipment.
- Will be expected to assist with mechanical troubleshooting on turbine control systems.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on screw type air compressor and desiccant air driers.
- Works closely with rotating equipment manufacturers and O/H to schedule and plan equipment refurbishment and repair.
- Able to read and interpret detailed mechanical drawings.
- Order inventory and maintain necessary critical spare parts for emergency use. Keep leads and foreman informed as to schedules / timelines and use of equipment.
- Work closely with lead operators and facility operators during facility shutdowns and help with startups.
- Any other function deemed necessary by the foreman or lead operator for maintenance of operational function.
- Assist with annual budget planning for forecast repairs.
- Facilitate learning before, during, and after completion of any job or major activity. Interaction with Facility Operators, Instrument Techs & Electrician to schedule shutdowns to minimize production loss.
- Adhere to all safety rules and practices established by Hilcorp Alaska.
- Conduct duties in a manner that provides for the utmost protection of the environment. Report all incidents and near-misses related to personnel, equipment and the environment. Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job. Participate with other team members to develop ideas to control expenses, enhance safety and improve overall operations.

- Maintain and repair heat exchangers and all associated equipment to include centrifugal pumps, mechanical seals, fin fan gear boxes, belts, and electric motors.
- Able to perform rigging inspections for T&D and CPS.
Other Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain Hilcorp computer based training requirements.
- Required to obtain a certified rigging card for inspections after employment if not already obtained.
Qualifications:
- Three (3) years minimum of oil and gas industry mechanical experience.
- Ability to work a 12-hour rotating schedule which includes 14 days on and 14 days off, and willing to hold over if needed for coverage.
- Require minimal supervision, direction, and training in the performance of routine and non-routine duties.
- Demonstrate an increased ability to work unsupervised, act upon an acquired knowledge of how the facilities function, anticipate and correct problems before they occur or before other parts of the facility are affected.
- Demonstrate the ability to routinely operate machinery/mechanical equipment unsupervised, while maintaining the facility in a safe, environmentally sound condition and maintaining neat and accurate records of the operations.
- Demonstrate the ability to recognize when non-standard or non-routine conditions exist at the facility, notify supervisory staff, and offer recommendations for solutions to the problem.
- Suitable mathematic skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
- Ability to consider safety in all decisions.
Education Requirements:
- Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent or any equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating sufficient knowledge, ability and skill to handle the duties and responsibilities of the position.
