DNV's Columbus Technology Center in Dublin, Ohio is seeking a Materials, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineer with expertise in polymers and polymer composites to perform various types of specialized mechanical testing to assess material behavior in hydrogen, CO2, hydrogen sulfide, and various other environments. The research and testing performed in Columbus is supporting operations and infrastructure to meet the current energy demand, while accelerating decarbonization strategies that include transportation and storage of hydrogen and CO2. - Design and conduct hands-on laboratory experiments that drive innovation and discovery.
- Work with advanced, pressurized equipment and a variety of chemical solutions-enjoy the excitement of tackling real-world challenges (comprehensive safety training provided for all environments, including those involving H2 and H2S).
- Analyze test data to uncover trends and solve complex problems.
- Investigate material failures, working directly with polymers and composite materials, and contribute to real solutions in the field.
- Identify knowledge gaps in materials compatibility and performance, connect with industry partners, and lead development of innovative testing programs.
- Engage in projects focused on materials selection and performance testing, from experimental setup and data collection to impactful reporting.
- Collaborate with clients - develop tailored testing plans, present results, and build lasting partnerships and new business opportunities.
- Keep stakeholders informed with clear project updates and comprehensive final reports.
