What to Expect
Tesla is hiring an experienced Sprinkler Fitter to install, inspect, test, and maintain fire protection systems across its advanced manufacturing facilities. This role covers wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, foam, and fire hydrant systems. Candidates must be self-directed, safety-focused, and code-compliant.
What You'll Do
- Read blueprints and NFPA specs; cut, thread, groove, and weld pipe
- Install valves, hangers, fire pumps, risers, and backflow preventers
- Perform wet system inspections including flow tests, valve checks, and alarm verifications
- Conduct dry system tests such as trip tests, drain inspections, and air pressure checks
- Handle pre-action and deluge systems with detection integration, solenoid testing, nozzle inspections, and actuation checks
- Manage foam systems and hydrants through concentrate checks, proportioner testing, flow testing, and NFPA compliance
- Respond to service calls, diagnose faults, coordinate with teams, complete ITM reports, and maintain tools and inventory
What You'll Bring
- Nevada State Fire Marshal G-Card & I-Card (or ability to obtain)
- 10+ years in fire sprinkler installation and maintenance
- Completion of 5-year apprenticeship preferred
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 13, 14, 20, 24, 25, 291
- OSHA 10 (minimum), OSHA 30 preferred; valid driver's license with clean record
- Physically able to lift 50+ lbs. and work at heights; proficient in English with strong communication skills
- Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
