Job Posting Title: Logistics Technician

Time Type: Full Time


Role Summary: Travel to sites to support for upcoming volume projections in various departments. Travel to sites to train according to the SWIs in various departments.


Principal Responsibilities:


(The following is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. It is not an exhaustive list of all expectations.):


Responsible for providing and maintaining effective material orders, customer service, and inventory management as well as various customer material movement requests. Responsible for the assembly and installation of servers and various electronic components using a variety of hand tools, power tools and measuring devices.


Task and Responsibilities:


* Travel to different sites across the fleet to assist and support projected high volume of inventory.


* Travel to different sites across the fleet to train new hires in all departments, at all levels.


* Assist with high volume of decommissioning material across all sites


* Support and assist within all departments at their home site to improve the workflow of the company as a whole team.


* Lead teams professionally at a site working with the site's Supervisors.


* Load and unload inbound and outbound freight to and from vehicles and containers


* Perform quality checks on inbound and outbound freight, checking for accurate part numbers, quantities and ensuring material is in pristine condition


* Execute daily inventory cycle counts and replenishment orders for critical spare parts on site at the datacenter


* Process returns shipments of various electronic components utilizing multiple warehouse management systems


* Place server racks on the datacenter floor utilizing laser measuring devices with 100% accuracy


* Populate electronic components and install cabling into server racks by following provided diagrams and schematics


* Install rack hardware using various hand, power and measuring tools


* Operate various types of material handling equipment such as straddle stackers, rack movers and electric pallet jacks


* Perform cleanup activities in the work area to ensure safety, cleanliness, and adherence to 5s standards

Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve goals results in additional costs and personnel, and serious delays in overall schedules.


Working Relationships


Frequently interact with subordinates, customers, and/or functional peer managers. May interact with senior management. Interactions normally involve matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers.


Scope


Receive assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet objectives. Provide guidance to subordinates to achieve goals in accordance with established policies. Work is reviewed and measured based on meeting objectives and schedules. Establishes and recommends changes to policies which effect subordinate organization(s).


Skills and Competencies:


(The following minimum requirements are normal guidelines and should not constrain the advancement of otherwise qualified personnel):


* Must be willing to travel a minimum of 80% of the year to include PTO and Paid Holidays.


* Must be willing to travel with a 48-hour notice.


* Must be willing to work all shifts, (some sites operate 24/7)


* Must be willing to travel for 2-week assignments.


* Must be able to lead a team to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.


* Must be able to work unsupervised.


* Passport is required or must be able to acquire a passport within 60 days of hiring.


* Must be willing to cross train in all departments.


* Must have the knowledge within a department to be able to fully train a new Team Lead according to the SWIs for that department. Knowledge of other departments is recommended but not required.


* Must be able to conduct an audit of a department to ensure all SWIs are being followed correctly.


* Must always be professional and responsible.
