Quality Control Coordinator

Avantor is looking for a Quality Control Coordinator to join our NuSil team in Carpinteria, CA!

What we're looking for

• Education: High School Diploma or GED is required; Associate or Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent credential from a two-year college or technical school, is preferred
• Experience: 1-2 years' related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience at NuSil Technology
• Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Office Suite
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Laboratory exposure and knowledge
  • SAP

The Coordinator serves as the central point of contact for both internal and external testing requests, ensuring smooth coordination and timely progression of activities. This role also plays a key logistical part in managing outsourced testing efforts. To succeed, candidates must excel at multitasking, maintaining up-to-date systems, and delivering clear, consistent communication across all stakeholders.

• Lot release scheduling and monitoring
• Coordination of outsource test samples
• Communication and organization across departments; customer-facing interaction
• Accurate record keeping and data entry, including chain of custody (cGMP/GDP and safety standards)
• Laboratory supply management
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
• Sample and workflow tracking using MS Office suite software

Environmental working conditions & Physical effort:

This is a mixed role between an office and operational environment. It will require you to enter a warehouse environment and will involve some manual handling of boxes where you will be required to wear specific protective clothing.

This role will also involve you entering a cleanroom environment, where full protective clothing (PPE) will be provided. You will undertake a full training program of cleanroom operations and entry/exit protocols.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to move freely between buildings of different levels.
