This position is full time (40hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

We offer 4 weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of training will be during normal business hours.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Manages day-to-day and production operations for a team of 30-40 medical coders
  • Develop procedures to increase departmental accuracy and efficiency through prompt identification and resolution of routine and complex production issues
  • Assesses, evaluates and addresses daily workload and queues
  • Analyzing productivity of medical coders compares productivity to capacity plan. Identifies variances and implements proactive solutions to mitigate risk
  • Responsible for quality monitoring activities including identifying areas of improvement and plan the implementation of improvement areas
  • Follow guidelines for competencies for coders; identifies training and development opportunities for coders
  • Incorporate feedback from operational, financial and QA reports to improve performance

Required Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 2+ years of experience working in an Operations/Production environment or 2+ years of team lead or supervisor/manager experience.
  • Experience in coaching or training employees or serving as the go-to person for team support and guidance.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word (create correspondence and work within templates), Microsoft Excel (data entry, sort / filter, and work within tables) and Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar management)
  • Ability to work Monday - Friday, 08:00AM - 05:00PM CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • 2+ years of leadership experience
  • 2+ years of experience working in a remote team setting
  • 2+ years of healthcare experience
  • PMP, Agile, Lean, Six Sigma certifications
  • Coding certification to include the following: CPC, CRC, RHIA, or RHIT



Telecommuting Requirements:



  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.



Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $58,800 - $105,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
