The current full-time base salary range for this position is $76,700- $115,400. "Off-scale" salaries, which yield compensation that is higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions. Application Window Open date: August 14, 2025 Next review date: Thursday, Aug 28, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Monday, Sep 15, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description Professor Jingshen Wang, located at the University of California, Berkeley's School of Public Health, is seeking a motivated Assistant or Associate Project Scientist to join the Division of Biostatistics. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of statistics, neuroscience, machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence (AI), and aging research. The successful candidate will contribute to a research program aimed at understanding the causal relationships between Alzheimer's disease pathologies-including amyloid, tau, neurodegeneration, and cognition-and describing the heterogeneity in these relationships across individuals and disease stages using novel ML/AI methods. The Assistant/Associate Project Scientist will play a key role in designing and implementing statistical and machine learning models using large, multimodal datasets, while also contributing to supervision, collaboration, and research funding efforts within a dynamic and supportive academic environment.
