This is a temporary position budgeted from September 1 to December 31 2025

Your Responsibilities as a Maintenance and Repair Technician:

Execute scheduled inspection, maintenance, and repair of stormwater, wastewater, and drinking water distribution system infrastructure.
Provide safety leadership by proactively identifying associated job hazards (e.g., excavation, confined-space, heat exposure), collaborate with the Construction Measure to develop and communicate safe work practices, and enforce safe work practices in the field.
Operate various power tools and heavy equipment, including mini-excavators, skid-steers, and loaders needed for underground utility repairs and slope stabilization projects.
Operate both independently as well as leading small project teams, including specialty subcontractor oversight.
Identify stormwater, wastewater, and drinking water system deficiencies, concerns, and repair needs and collaborate with the Construction Manager to identify personnel, equipment, and other resources needed.
Recognize you will be the "face of Apex" for many clients and as such always conduct yourself in a professional manner.
Execute projects safely and in compliance with the scope of work and specifications provided.
Use company-provided smart-phone aps to document all work.

What we're looking for:

5+ years of varied construction experience involving stormwater, wastewater, and drinking water infrastructure.
5+ years of experience inspecting and repairing fire hydrants, distribution system valves, catch basins, underground pipe, framing and pouring concrete, valve exercising, brow ditches, sediment ponds, and outfalls.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Clean driving and excellent safety record.
Team oriented but able to work independently.
Light construction experience/hands-on skills a plus.
A valid driver's license, good driving history and reliable transportation are required.
