About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled
Data Management Consultant to support our
data engineering team. This role will focus on improving data quality, establishing robust data governance processes, and supporting business stakeholders by ensuring access-related data is accurate, auditable, and aligned with our organizational and security policies.
The ideal candidate has experience working with
HR systems, understands
organizational hierarchy and HR data, and can collaborate with senior stakeholders in an agile and consultative manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for data issues, improvements, and reporting needs.
- Collaborate with HR, Facilities, Security, and IT teams to align data with organizational structure and access policies.
- Analyze and audit data systems to ensure consistency, completeness, and accuracy.
- Develop queries and reports to support data validation, audits, and operational insights.
- Identify data quality issues and implement solutions to address duplicates, mismatches, or access discrepancies.
- Build and maintain APIs for seamless integration of data systems, ensuring robust data flow and accessibility across platforms.
- Advise on system architecture to ensure optimal and efficient integration of various data systems, considering existing infrastructure and future scalability.
- Establish and enforce data governance and data management best practices for HR data.
- Work with senior stakeholders across business functions to understand and respond to access-related queries in a timely and respectful manner.
- Support integration or reconciliation of data with HR systems (e.g., Workday) and other business platforms.
- Provide documentation of data flows, data definitions, and data quality rules.
- Educate business users on data interpretation and help them use the system effectively.
- Act in an agile, responsive, and proactive manner to evolving needs and data challenges.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in HRIS, HR data management, business systems analysis, or data auditing.
- Proven experience in data management, data quality, or data governance roles.
- Hands-on experience with HR systems like Workday or similar HCM platforms.
- Strong SQL skills and proficiency with tools like Excel, Tableau, Power BI or other data visualization/reporting tools.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain data and systems to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in large organizations with complex org hierarchies.
- Responsive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Ability to work independently and drive cross-functional alignment.
