The Mailroom Technician is responsible for organizing and distributing mail among all departments within the Southern Company/George Power/Atlanta Gas Light. Ensure high standards of customer service at all times and professional at all times.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate mail service equipment: postage, X-Ray, complex inserts, sorters, bar-coders, scanners, printers, material handling equipment and fax machines.
  • Serve as liaison for mail service and other departments.
  • Deliver supplies needed for mailing projects.
  • Clean and adjust machines daily.
  • Track and maintain records and logs of mailing.
  • Sort, distribute and collect U.S. Mail, USPS and FedEx mail.
  • Pick up and deliver materials/mail for special mailings or shipments. (The vehicle will be provided by Client -Georgia Power).
  • Inventory mailing supplies.
  • Order necessary mailing materials.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate will possess the following required degrees, Certificates or competencies:

  • High school diploma/GED equivalent.
  • Safety is the most important tool at Colliers Facility Solutions and is one of the core values for our client. Must follow all safety guidelines.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid State of Georgia driver's license and proof of insurance.
  • Ability to Drive/Operate company vehicles to and from various properties.
    • Vehicle provided by Georgia Power
  • 1+ years of related experience, or any similar combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills; detail oriented.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work with others well, give and take direction and to interface with decision makers in a professional manner and maintain confidential information.

  • Prior experience in the mailroom environment required.
