Ultra Maritime in Victor, NY is searching for an experienced Assembler to support the production of cutting-edge Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) technology. In this role, you will support the production and testing of advanced ASW receiver systems, including sonobuoy receivers, RF front-end modules, and digital signal processing electronics. You will work hands-on with complex assemblies used in both airborne and shipboard platforms. Your day-to-day will include reviewing work orders and assembly instructions, preparing tools and materials, and assembling components according to engineering specifications. Tasks may involve mechanical or electrical assembly, soldering, applying adhesives, and performing quality checks using measurement tools. Assemblers are also expected to document their work, collaborate with team members to resolve issues, and maintain a clean, organized workspace throughout the shift.

Nationality Requirements

Candidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes we deliver for our customers.

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assemble products in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications using provided tools and equipment.

  • Utilize hand tools, mechanical/electrical components, schematics, and precision measuring instruments.

  • Perform tasks including potting, encapsulation, epoxy bonding, sanding, and cleaning as part of the assembly process.

  • Support the fabrication of prototype units for engineering evaluation when required.

  • Identify and recommend improvements related to assembly processes, tools, and fixtures.

  • Provide guidance and support to fellow assemblers regarding product assembly procedures.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or possession of a technical certificate.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Hands-on experience with soldering techniques, including through-hole and fine-pitch SMT components.

  • Ability to follow detailed written and verbal work instructions accurately.

Desired Skills:

  • Certification in Electronic Soldering, Rework and Assembly Practices. (e.g. IPC JSTD-001, IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/7721)

  • Certification in cable and wire harness assembly (e.g. IPC/WHMA-A-620)

  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, diagrams, and blueprints.

  • Basic math skills (e.g., addition and subtraction) for interpreting dimensional requirements.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to regularly stand, walk, use hands for handling components, reach with arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • Requires standard finger dexterity and normal color vision.

  • Must be capable of occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds to waist height without assistance.

Typically, High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 5+ years of related experience
