Summary of Job Duties:The Director of Human Resources provides strategic leadership and operational management of the College's human resources functions. This position ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations while fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture. The Director partners with executive leadership, administrators, faculty, and staff to align HR policies, programs, and initiatives with the College's mission, vision, and strategic goals.

Talent Acquisition & Retention: Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of faculty and staff. Ensure equitable and inclusive hiring practices.

Benefits: Oversee benefits enrollment, leave administration, and employee wellness initiatives.

Policy Development & Compliance: Monitor, develop, implement, and update HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, accreditation requirements, and Board policies. Maintain accurate employee records and HR data systems.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Exercise authority in the recruitment, selection, hiring, and promotion of faculty and staff in accordance with college policies and applicable laws. Manage all employment recruitment, onboarding, personnel actions, promotions, and separations-through the College's Workday Human Capital Management system. Ensure Workday processes are fully utilized to maintain accurate, compliant, and efficient HR operations. Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR management experience, preferably in higher education or a public-sector organization.
  • Knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and higher education governance.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Preferred

  • Master's degree in human resources, organizational leadership, Higher Education Administration, business administration or related field.
  • Professional HR certification (SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, SPHR, PHR).
  • Experience with Workday HCM applications.
