uada.edu Summary of Job Duties:The Program Associate - Exercise and Wellness supports technical and programmatic activities under the guidance of the Health Specialist. Responsibilities include program coordination, data management, communications, and support for educational and research efforts related to health and wellness initiatives.

Key Job Duties:

Program Coordination & Evaluation:
1. Organize registration and logistics.
2. Maintain participant databases and track engagement.
3. Assist with data entry, evaluation summaries, and reporting for local and state use.
4. Manage web-based evaluation systems and program materials inventory.

Technology & Communication:
1. Update website content and manage social media for youth and adult health programs.
2. Develop and distribute promotional materials and e-newsletters.
3. Coordinate outreach aligned with web content and local events.

Program Development & Support:
1. Create and edit educational materials (e.g., handouts, presentations, news articles).
2. Assist in developing web-based training and grant proposals.
3. Conduct literature reviews, contribute to manuscripts, and help deliver educational sessions or trainings. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Health Promotion, Public Health, Nutrition, or a related field required, plus three (3) years of relevant work experience OR a related Master's degree is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in program coordination, health education, or wellness promotion
  • Familiarity with Extension, community outreach, or evidence-based health programming is an asset
  • Certified or credentialed in personal training, strength and conditioning, dietetics, yoga, or related certifications preferred
  • Professional experience in providing educational exercise demonstrations
  • Professional, hands-on exercise experience with diverse audiences
  • Role model being physically active
  • Positive and professional personality

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic data management.
  • Experience with web-based survey/evaluation tools (e.g., Qualtrics, Google Forms).
  • Ability to update web content and manage social media platforms for program promotion.
  • Skilled in developing and maintaining evidence-based educational materials and presentations.

Communication Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to create ADA-accessible newsletters, social media content, and outreach materials for diverse audiences.

Organizational Skills:

  • Excellent time management, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Other:

  • Willingness to travel within the state and work occasional evenings or weekends as required.
  • Commitment to improving community health and wellness through education and outreach.
  • Enjoy working with a variety of people and have a passion for improving the health of people across the state of Arkansas.
