*Description*
Program Overview The Digital & Large Format Print Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining a range of high-speed digital printers, wide-format printers, and bindery and nishing equipment to produce high-quality printed materials. This includes everything from booklets and mailers to banners, signage, and vehicle graphics. The role involves setting up print jobs, preparing les, selecting materials, and ensuring that all output meets exacting quality standards and client specications. This position requires technical prociency, attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines. The operator must also perform routine equipment maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and software issues, manage production records and inventory, and maintain a clean and safe work environment. The operator will collaborate closely with designers, project managers, and service vendors to ensure production efficiency and customer satisfaction. Scope of Responsibilities *Operate and maintain high-speed digital copiers (color and black/white) and large-format printers (roll-to-roll, atbed, etc.) *Prepare and process print jobs using various software (Microsoft Office, Publisher, Adobe *Acrobat, InDesign, RIP software) *Set up print les, make layout adjustments, and impose documents for printing *Calibrate printers and perform color management to ensure accurate and consistent output *Select appropriate paper, media, ink, and substrates based on job requirements *Monitor print runs for quality, accuracy, and equipment performance *Perform post-print nishing tasks including trimming, folding, collating, laminating, mounting, punching, cutting, stitching, drilling, padding, perforating, die-cutting, labeling, and binding (GBC, Velo-Bind, etc.) *Operate a statement mail inserter and assist in shipping and packaging printed materials *Conduct minor repairs and maintenance on printers and bindery equipment *Place service calls and interact with equipment service providers as needed *Maintain accurate production records and inventories of print supplies and materials *Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area *Skills* printer support, file set up, equipment maintenance, troubleshooting software, records management, microsoft office, adobe acrobat, indesign, rip, calibration software, print output, commercial printing, graphic design *Top Skills Details* printer support,file set up,equipment maintenance,troubleshooting software,records management,microsoft office,adobe acrobat,indesign,rip,calibration software,print output *Additional Skills & Qualifications* Qualifications *High school diploma or equivalent required *1-3 years of experience operating high-speed digital and/or wide-format printing equipment *Familiarity with RIP software, color management, and various print media/substrates *Prociency in print-related software such as Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office *Ability to troubleshoot technical and equipment issues independently *Strong attention to detail and quality assurance *Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure to meet strict deadlines *Excellent communication and teamwork skills *Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods *Knowledge of print shop safety standards and inventory practices *Previous experience in a commercial print or graphic production environment preferred Working Conditions: This position may involve fast-paced, deadline-driven projects. Manual dexterity and stamina are required to operate equipment, handle materials, and perform maintenance tasks. The role involves frequent lifting, standing, bending, and walking. Work may be independently performed under the general supervision of the Printing and Graphics Coordinator. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
