- The principal function of an employee in this classification is to provide customer service and perform a wide range of administrative and bookkeeping tasks to support the maintenance of the City’s financial records.
- Work is performed under the supervision of the Treasurer; however, some leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgement and initiative.

Code Compliance Officer $65,790.40 - $71,884.80 Annually
- The principal function of an employee in this class is to enforce local ordinances and codes as well as to inspect and investigate complaints of non-compliance.
- The work is performed under the supervision and direction of an assigned supervisor but considerable leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative.
- The nature of the work performed requires that an employee in this class establish and maintain effective working relationships with their assigned supervisor, other departmental personnel, local businesses, homeowners, contractors, engineers, other City employees, and the general public.
- The principal duties of this class are performed at various properties and/or construction sites with exposure to a variety of weather conditions and terrains.

- The principal function of an employee in this class is to plan, organize, and direct the operations and activities of an assigned division of the Fire Department.
- The work is performed under administrative direction of the Fire Chief, but extensive leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative.
- Supervision is exercised over the work of all division personnel.
- The nature of the work performed requires that an employee in this class establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Fire Chief, other Deputy Chiefs and fire personnel, City Manager, City Commission, other City personnel, elected and appointed officials, representatives of a variety of State, Federal, and local agencies, media representatives, and the general public.

- The principal function of an employee in this class is to provide security for the Municipal Court, the Bozeman Public Safety Center, and for law enforcement during special events, performing a variety of law enforcement duties in the enforcement of all Federal, State, and local laws and ordinances to ensure the preservation of public peace, prevention of crimes, and the protection of life and property.
- The work is performed under the supervision and direction of a Command Officer, but considerable leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative.
- The nature of the work performed requires that an employee in this class establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Police Chief, other Command Officers and City personnel, elected and appointed officials, representatives of Federal, State, County and municipal agencies, media representatives and the general public.
