What will you do

The Commercial Sales Executive Security will promote and sell Johnson Controls Security services and technology within an assigned territory, establishing relationships, and closing new business for Johnson Controls Security and ensuring customer retention. MUST HAVE COMMERCIAL SECURITY SALES EXPERIENCE, some FIRE background is a Plus!

This person is the Johnson Controls Security "brand steward", charged with telling the Johnson Controls Security story and clearly demonstrating that Johnson Controls Security is the leading electronic security provider. The Commercial Account Executive is responsible for securing profitable sales and upgrades to new, existing and discontinued Johnson Controls Security Commercial customers while improving customer happiness and retention by initiating post installation follow-ups. This rep will also have a commanding knowledge of our product line, as well as that of our services.

Sales and Business Development

Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities in the electronic security market, including intrusion detection, life safety, access control, video surveillance, and integrated systems.

  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders to drive revenue growth and increase market share.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets and quotas through direct sales efforts and cross-selling opportunities. Plan and execute strategic sales initiatives to target key industry sectors such as commercial buildings, healthcare, education, and retail.
  • Customer Engagement. Conduct needs assessments and inventory reviews to deliver tailored solutions that address customer security challenges.
  • Present and demonstrate electronic security products and services professionally. Ensure customer satisfaction throughout the sales cycle, from initial engagement to post-sale support.
  • Technical Expertise, Maintain a thorough understanding of electronic security solutions, including hardware, software, and services offered by the company.
  • Stay current on industry trends, technological advancements, and competitor products to provide informed recommendations.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to design and propose custom solutions that meet client requirements.
  • Administrative Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate quotes, proposals, and contracts in alignment with company policies, while mastering tools such as SalesForce, Compass, CIARA, Mastermind, ADMIN, and CARM.
  • Keep detailed records of sales activities, opportunities, and pipeline management using SalesForce.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts and performance reports to management through SalesForce tools.
  • Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with internal teams, including senior representatives, estimators, GCOE, operations, and procurement, to ensure seamless solution delivery.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Compliance and Ethics
  • Follow company policies, ethical standards, and industry regulations in all sales activities.
  • Ensure solutions align with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements.

Skills and Competencies

  • *Proven sales and negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to close deals. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-driven and capable of working independently or collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Solid technical knowledge of electronic security systems and their integration.
  • Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities in the electronic security market, including intrusion detection, life safety, access control, video surveillance, and integrated systems.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders to drive revenue growth and enhance market share.
  • Achieve or exceed sales targets and quotas through direct sales efforts and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to penetrate key industry verticals (e.g., commercial buildings, healthcare, education, retail).
  • Cross-Selling
  • Attend team meetings with other JCI groups, stay informed about their offerings, and actively Participate in team meetings, with outhe JCI teams, be aware of offerings from all teams and introduce our teams to our current and future customers.

What we look for

Required

  • High school degree or equivalent required.

  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills with the ability to present to senior level executives within the customer and Johnson Controls Security organizations

  • Ability to work a full-time schedule

  • Available for local travel

Preferred

  • College degree preferred or 2 Years Commercial Security Sales experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a successful commercial sales representative in the security industry demonstrated by ability to meet or exceed quota.

  • Fire service sales background a plus.
