In this role you will support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Medium Range Targets program office. Your work will cover multiple programs developing the next generation of reentry vehicles, rocket motors, and counter measures in support of creating realistic test environments for the nation's missile defense systems.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate Medium Range Targets Program Office Systems Engineer activities with other MDA Systems Engineering teams and/or Product Offices, Prime Contractor, and Other Government Agencies (OGAs) as required
- Obtain & review information from the prime contractor as requested by the Government customer
- Taking ownership of the technical milestone review process and ensuring all entrance and exit criteria are addressed
- Facilitate Government IPTs and functional areas (systems engineering, quality, safety, logistics, etc.) as requested
- Technical baseline management of system designs
- Ensure levied requirements flow down, and verify compliance
- Interpreting flight test requirements and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure common understanding
Qualifications:
- Master's degree with 12+ years working on missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD program / project or Bachelor's degree with 20+ years working on missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD program / project
- Must be a US Citizen and have/able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
- Familiarity with MDA and/or DoD programs and processes
- Ability to apply Engineering rigor to solve engineering/scientific problems
- Experience writing, presenting, and coordinating product and engineering plans, policies, and procedures
- Understanding system interface requirements and requirements management
- Ability to clearly communicate complex ideas and produce and present clear, concise, well-organized, and audience-relevant presentations and documents.
- Reviewing system engineering documentation to ensure specifications meet system needs and are accurate
- Works Independently, as a team member, or leading teams/tasks
- Experience working in a configuration-controlled environment and ensuring proper levels of handling are applied to items
