This opportunity is in the Advanced Analytics Department.

Role Description:

In the role of EDI Intake Analyst I, you will be part of the Data Management Job Family within the Advanced Analytics Department. You will work closely with third-party administrators (TPAs), business users, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure files are received accurately and timely, adhere to required formats, and are ready for downstream processing. Your contributions will drive continuous improvements in data intake, quality, and analytics, enhancing Safety National's ability to make informed business decisions.

Your day-to-day responsibilities as an EDI Intake Analyst I will include:



  • Receiving, analyzing, and validating electronic data interchange (EDI) from external sources in alignment with established layouts and intake schedules.
  • Monitor inbound EDI traffic to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
  • Conduct preliminary analysis to identify data integrity issues and escalate or resolve as appropriate.
  • Identifying and resolving data quality issues while implementing long-term solutions
  • Working with TPAs, business users, and vendors to enhance service levels on existing and new data feeds.
  • Collaborate with TPAs and vendors to resolve format, transmission, or content issues.
  • Troubleshooting data import issues and implementing solutions efficiently.
  • Support operational improvements and intake process automation where feasible.


The ideal candidate is someone who is:



  • Technically skilled and detail-oriented, with a solid understanding of EDI workflows and operational dependencies.
  • Collaborative, able to work effectively with diverse business and technical personnel.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and priorities, switching seamlessly between tasks.
  • Proactive and organized, with a focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement.


Some of the essential skills required in this role include:



  • Intermediate SQL skills for querying and investigating file loads and errors.
  • Experience working with EDI files, data file formats, and sFTP transmissions.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of data validation methods and intake process controls.


Qualifications:



  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in Claims industry, Finance industry or data intake-related role within insurance, healthcare, or a similar industry.


Required Skills & Experience:





    • Ability to query and analyze relational databases using SQL.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Understanding of insurance, claims, or policy data (a plus).
    • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring work authorization sponsorship now or in the future.
    • This position allows for a hybrid work schedule which includes a minimum of 3 days per week in our St. Louis Corporate Office, located at 1832 Schuetz Rd. Saint Louis, MO. All employees are required to submit work from home requests and follow our Work From Home policy, which will be provided to all candidates selected to interview.




Preferred Qualifications:



  • Familiarity with EDI standards and processes.
  • Hands-on approach to data quality initiatives.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment.

Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location.
