As an Equipment and Tooling Lead, you will perform equipment preparation and planning for mechanical services at Westinghouse Nuclear Power Plants. As part of the Europe, Asia and Latin America Outage Maintenance Services (OMS), you will preferably have a strong field services knowledge and/or technical background (i.e. mechanical, electrical, etc.) to work on equipment and plan services. You will be an interface to our internal customers: Business Unit, Engineering, Quality and Sales Departments. You will also interface with the external clients (generally utility project teams) as part of a project team during project implementation.

You will report to the Program Manager, Reactor and Fuel Services, and be located at our Waltz Mill facility in Madison, PA. This position is eligible for a mobile or remote working arrangement.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Direct project correspondences by preparing and reviewing equipment designs, plant drawings, and engineering best practices to ensure equipment is prepared appropriately for specific mechanical applications.



  • Communicate with clients to identify and define equipment requirements, scope and objectives.



  • Use computer-aided (CAD) manufacturing to create and adjust tools or parts for tooling applications, heavy equipment, or any product that needs customized components.



  • Oversee a team of individuals whom are preparing the equipment. This includes giving daily briefs, assigning tasks, providing oversight and ensuring documentation is in order for equipment preparations.



  • Work with local manufacturers for equipment modifications.



  • Writing purchase orders, performing fabrication follow-up with manufacturers, ensure high quality work from vendors, and perform qualification testing for any fabricated component used for site work.



  • Have a good working knowledge of safe hoisting and rigging fundamentals.



  • Analyze and evaluate site implementation processes and identify areas of improvement for efficiency, training, and preparation.



  • Support the Westinghouse Design Change Process in a Lead Engineer or Design Chair role to oversee the major design changes in tooling for work in mechanical applications. This role requires a good working knowledge of engineering principles, including materials, failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), Finite Element Analysis (FEA) principles, manufacturing principles, and testing and qualification requirements.



  • Adhere to budget by monitoring expenses and implementing cost-saving measures. Knowledge of SAP is preferable but not required.



  • Oversee a complex team of technicians, supervisors, engineers, and technical experts for implementation of large-scale projects at a customer site with a high degree of quality, and within the parameters of qualified procedures and guidelines. Maintain and document all quality related issues.



  • Develop, exercise and promote team-building skills with peers, supervisors, contractors, customers and other departments.



  • Practice a "Safety First" attitude as an integral part of all activities. Gain and maintain "Unescorted Access" status at nuclear power plant sites.



  • Report status of field work progress, changes, problems, and/or mistakes to the Westinghouse Project Manager on a daily basis.



  • Provide leadership during preparation and on-site activities for the team at large.



  • This position requires extensive travel via airplane and/or automobile and working with or around hazardous materials.



  • This position is subject to the requirements of Westinghouse and customer security, unescorted access and fitness for duty programs.



  • This position also requires the ability to carry/lift 50 pounds and must possess full range of motion.



  • Knowledge of underwater tooling techniques and processes to provide personnel training, and implementation at a client site for deep underwater work.



  • Operational Excellence: Develop and implement processes that ensure high quality equipment rollout at Nuclear Power Plants in a global environment.



  • Cross Functional collaboration: Build "the bridge" with the different department (Project Management, Engineering, SPE, Global Procurement, internal stakeholders, suppliers) to develop a plan in serving our customer on time.



  • Innovation & Digitalization: Utilize newest techniques in engineering to deliver high quality services to the end customer, including modernizing old techniques and developing new technologies.




Qualifications:


  • 5+ years of experience



  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline



  • Ability to travel within Europe 10-20%



  • Knowledge of European supplier base for the energy sector



  • Microsoft Project & Primavera P6 expertise



  • Global project management experience



  • Experience with SAP & Ariba or similar system experience in a global environment is beneficial
