Benefit Counselor Trainer

The Aon Benefit counselor trainer is responsible for executing counselor training and readiness plans, following designed curriculum, to ensure counselor teams are fully prepared to perform their job functions successfully.

What the day will look like

  • Partner with Director of Training and internal stakeholders to maintain industry leading counselor training programs.
  • Assist with advancing innovation to incorporate new technology concepts into training curriculum.
  • Assist with counselor new hire and refresher orientations.
  • Collaborate with team to develop and track training needs/requirements at peak.
  • Work with operations team to conduct client trainings to provide high-quality counselor performance.
  • Maintain consistency of training delivery, whether on-site or virtually, across all client specific trainings.
  • Provide coaching to address issues during live client case activity.
  • Organize and lead refresher trainings to correct weak areas/low performance within counselor teams.
  • Support team in review of training curriculum for Full-Time counselor team to ensure continuous high-quality service and performance.
  • Travel to client locations and conduct/facilitate counselor training to cover all benefits, as needed.
  • Perform all other duties inherent to the role.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • 3+ years experience in the benefits industry with extensive knowledge of core and voluntary benefits.
  • Ability to organize and simultaneously handle multiple projects.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to effectively facilitate and teach complex employee benefits in a way that resonates with adult learners, both virtually and in-person.
  • Effective customer service skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office required.
  • Regular and predictable attendance in the office required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal instruction.
  • Maintain a cordial and effective relationship with co-workers.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Interact with others effectively by utilizing good communication skills, cooperating purposefully and providing information, as needed, to achieve the business goals of the company.

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $60,000 to $72,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
