Job Summary:
The Physician Assistant focuses on diagnosing, treating, and preventing mental illnesses and emotional disorders. They evaluate patients' mental and physical well-being, create personalized treatment plans, and prescribe medication as needed. This role plays a crucial part in supporting patients' needs and promoting improved mental health outcomes.

Compensation:
  • The salary range for this position is $120,000-$200,000. Salary is based on experience and qualifications.
Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Graduate of a Physician Assistant Program
  • 2 years of experience in mental health direct patient care
  • Exhibit good judgement, honesty, integrity, responsibility, time management, and punctuality.
  • Ability to analyze issues and suggest or determine solutions in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Proficient in utilizing computers, typing, and navigating multiple applications/systems simultaneously such as Microsoft Office products, EHR systems, etc.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality handling client information in compliance with HIPAA guidelines and Ellie policies
  • Demonstrates awareness, inclusivity, sensitivity, humility, and experience in working with individuals from diverse ethnic backgrounds, socioeconomic statuses, sexual orientations, gender identities, and other various aspects of culture.

Responsibilities include:

  • Diagnose and treat mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and substance abuse disorders
  • Conduct complete history and physical assessments and follow up appointments.
  • Conduct medical evaluations to assess patient suitability for ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP).
  • Develop individualized treatment plans, incorporating therapy, medication, and lifestyle changes.
  • Prescribe and manage medications, monitoring their effectiveness and potential side effects.
  • Oversee ketamine administration and monitor patient safety during KAP treatment sessions.
  • Participate in co-facilitation and consultation with KAP therapists throughout the four-phase model of KAP (assessment, preparation, treatment, integration).
  • Collaborate with psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Stay updated on advancements in psychiatric treatments and research.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and adhere to etherical and legal guidelines.
